Date September 15, 2008

Well, before staring to describe the features of Quicksilver, a quick word of warning to you guys. Just start using Quicksilver and I bet my left leg you will not be able to even think about using a Mac without it. Quicksilver is a cool application for your Mac OS X. Quicksilver has been developed by Blacktree Software. It is distributed free of cost under the open source GPL licence. It basically lets users use their keyboard to quickly perform various tasks like launching various applications, opening/editing files and data conatained in them, running programs or even sending mails.

The Quicksilver application has improved by leaps and bounds after November 6, 2007 when the source code was made available freely through the Google Code. If you are wondering what google code is, it is nothing but Google’s website created specifically for developers interested in open source development or in development of applications or scripts related to google. After the source code was made available freely through Google Code, Quicksilver got a plugin architecture where with each new plugin provided integration with a particular program or a particular interface.

As mentioned earlier, just check out Quicksilver once and I bet my left leg you will not be able to even think about using a Mac without it!
